"Shop for Success” is a signature shopping event, in which Dress for Success Central Virginia opens its doors to the public offering shoppers the opportunity to find high-end designer apparel at reduced prices with all proceeds benefiting Dress for Success Central Virginia.
 

As our boutique is usually only open to disadvantaged women by referral only, this public sale tends to attract savvy shoppers, community leaders, and style-makers from throughout Richmond and surrounding areas that are committed to making a significant impact in the lives of the women that Dress for Success Central Virginia serves. We intend to conduct a special sale on the VCU Campus for which shoppers, especially the students, can purchase inexpensive, high quality, work attire for their career needs. 

 

We are partnering with the VCU Fashion Department in a service learning initiative for the students in which we provided students with experience styling and coordinating fashion shoots for the production of this here Look Book, which is used as a marketing tool to promote our sale. For this partnership students were divided into groups and assigned a garment of which to feature for our Look Book. Furthermore, the students will be responsible for using the content in this Look Book for social media marketing to help increase our visibility in the community to gain more support for our organization, this event, and our mission.
